About

The discovery layer Google Play never built

Go look at a PlayStation game's page on the open web. You'll find what the game is, why it's worth playing, its key features, a FAQ, real screenshots, a trailer — an actual argument, made with actual craft. Now look up a paid mobile game. You get a store listing: eight screenshots, four thousand characters of developer copy, and a price with no case attached to it.

That gap is why people believe there are no good games on phones. There are — some of the best games of the past decade live on Google Play for less than the price of lunch. What they've never had is someone making the argument for them.

PLAYHUNTER makes the argument. Every page here answers the questions a listing won't: What is this game? Why is it worth real money upfront? What does it feel like at 1 a.m.? Who should skip it?

How the facts stay honest

Every hard number on this site — prices, ratings, download counts, IAP flags, update dates — is pulled programmatically from the game's live Google Play listing, not typed by hand. Currently tracking 12 games; facts last checked 2026-07-25. If a game contains in-app purchases, we say so in the second row of the page, because pretending otherwise is how trust dies.

What we will never do

No scores out of ten. No sponsored placements. No affiliate skimming — Google Play doesn't even have an affiliate program, which makes this easy to promise. Every outbound link goes to the game's real Play listing and nowhere else. If a game stops being worth your money, its page changes or disappears.

Who's behind this

PLAYHUNTER is an independent games project. We also build our own mobile games — which is exactly why we care that paying for a good one stays a normal thing to do.
